Pie City as a franchise
The "Pie City" concept is one which will assure any investor an opportunity to reap great benefits from his/her association with us.
Our franchise model requires that a franchisee initially sets up a manufacturing unit and then expands their business by means of satellite stores of which they are the owners. We do not franchise one off stores.
Pie City offers their franchisees the best quality and level of ongoing support, feedback and advice to help them run successful businesses.
The following is a brief overview of what a franchise package consists of and the commitments required when entering into a Pie City franchise agreement:
Basic franchisee agreement
A franchisee has to enter into a legal contract with the franchise holder for a minimum period of 10 years with the option to renew for a further 10 years. This agreement forms the basis for both parties' contractual obligations to each other and it also serves to protect the interests of the parties but above all, the continued success of the concept.
There is an initial franchise fee, payable on signature of the agreement (initial fees may vary from area to area and will be provided on request).
Location grant of franchise
Approved franchisees will have to sign a "Location Grant of Franchise" form and pay a deposit (30% of the initial fee) to secure the sole right for the period of 90 days to investigate and locate a site in a given area. The deposit will be forfeited if the applicant fails to complete processing of his application once a site is approved.
A fixed franchise fee of 8% on turnover is payable on a weekly basis by the franchisee to the franchisor. This fee includes a management fee, an administrative fee and an advertising levy.
The franchise package consists of the following:
- use of our trademark
- a business concept
- a business system
- store design and layout
- management support
- centralised price negotiations
- group benefits
The product range, pricing, image, décor, staff attire, signage and advertising will be determined by the franchisor. All equipment and ingredients must be purchased from suppliers approved by the franchisor. This is to ensure uniform standards and quality across the group.
